Privacy Policy

The short version

This app turns an HTML file or a website ZIP that you choose into an Android APK. To do that it needs an account and it has to send your chosen file to our build server. It shows no ads, contains no in-app purchases, and sells nothing to anyone.

1. Who we are

“HTML & ZIP to APK” (the “app”) is operated by AppOfWeb. If you have any question about this policy or about your data, contact us at support@appofweb.com or through Support Chat in the app's side menu.

2. What we collect and why

Guest accounts. “Continue as Guest” still creates a real account — the app generates a random email address and password for you. Everything above applies to it, except that the email is not one you own.

3. What we do not do

No advertising. The app contains no ad SDK and no advertising identifier is collected.
No in-app purchases. Nothing is sold in the app and no payment details are handled.
No selling or sharing. We do not sell, rent or trade your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
No tracking across other apps or websites.
No contacts, photos library, location or microphone access is requested by this app for its own use.

4. Content checks

Before a file can be previewed or built, the app renders it once inside a hidden WebView on your device and checks the visible text against a list of disallowed categories. This runs on your device; the extracted text is not uploaded. Its only purpose is to stop the service being used to package content we are not permitted to distribute.

If content is refused, the file itself is never sent to our build server.

5. Permissions the app asks for

Internet / network state — to sign in, run builds and download your APK.
Install unknown apps — so you can install an APK you built, from inside the app.
Notifications — to tell you when a build finishes.
Storage (Android 12 and below) — to save the APK you download.

Picking your HTML or ZIP file uses the Android system file picker, which grants access to that one file only.

6. Service providers

We use these third parties to run the service. Each processes data only to provide their part of it:

Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, App Check) — privacy
Cloudflare — hosts the build API our app talks to.
GitHub — runs the build that compiles your APK. Your content and project settings are committed to a private build repository for that build.
Google Play — distributes the app and checks for updates.

7. How long we keep things

Your account and projects — until you delete your account.
Uploaded content and built APKs — kept with the project so it can be rebuilt or re-downloaded; removed when you delete the project or your account.
Support chat — kept so the conversation makes sense when you come back; removed on request.
Build cooldown record — see the note below.

One record outlives your account. A record keyed to your email address, holding only the time of your last build and how many builds you have made, is kept after deletion. It contains no other personal data. It exists so that free-build limits cannot be reset simply by deleting an account and signing up again with the same address.

8. Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data. Deleting your account is built into the app and takes effect immediately — see the guide below. For anything else, write to support@appofweb.com and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

All traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS. Your password is handled by Firebase Authentication and is never stored by us in readable form. Build requests are authorised with a signed token, so nobody can read or overwrite another account's projects.

No system is perfect. If you find a security problem, please tell us at support@appofweb.com before disclosing it.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects how your data is used, tell you in the app.
