Privacy Policy — Website to App
For the Android app Website to App — WebToApp Builder (com.webtoapp.convertwebsitetoapp) · Last updated: 8 October 2026
This policy describes what the Website to App Android app collects, why, and who it is shared with. It covers the app only. Use of the appofweb.com website is covered by our site privacy policy.
AppofWeb is the data controller for the information described here. Contact details are at the end of this page.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account or sign in with Google, we receive your email address, display name and a unique user ID from Firebase Authentication. We use this to identify your account, keep your projects attached to it, and sign you in on another device.
- Your app projects. The website address, app name, icon, colours and other settings you enter in the builder are stored so your projects are there when you come back.
- Build content. When you ask us to build an APK or AAB, the settings and any images or files you supplied are sent to our build service so the app can be compiled and the download prepared.
- Purchase information. Subscriptions are processed by Google Play and managed through RevenueCat. We receive the status of your purchase — whether it is active, when it renews or expires. We never receive your card or payment details.
- Advertising information. Free use of the app is supported by ads from Google AdMob, which uses your device’s advertising ID and related identifiers. See Advertising below.
- Diagnostic information. Standard technical data such as device model, Android version, app version and crash details, used to find and fix faults.
- Support messages. If you contact support in the app, we keep what you send so we can answer it.
Permissions the app asks for
Some permissions exist only so that the website you are previewing behaves as it would in a browser. We do not collect this data ourselves, and nothing is accessed until the page you are previewing asks for it and you allow it.
- Camera and microphone — so a previewed website can use them, for example a video call or a QR scanner on your own site. Also used if you take a photo for your app icon.
- Location — so a previewed website that uses location, such as a store finder, works in the preview. Your location is passed to that page and is not sent to us or stored.
- Photos and files — to choose an icon, splash image or a ZIP or HTML file to turn into an app.
- Notifications — to tell you when a build has finished.
- Install unknown apps — so you can install an APK you built, from inside the app.
How we use your information
- To create your account and sign you in.
- To save your projects and build the apps you ask for.
- To confirm an active subscription and unlock paid features.
- To show ads to users on the free tier.
- To answer support requests, fix faults and keep the service secure, including preventing abuse of free builds.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of the websites you convert for any purpose other than building your app.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that make the app work:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, App Check) — accounts, saved projects and support chat.
- Google AdMob — advertising on the free tier.
- Google Play Billing and RevenueCat — subscription purchase and status.
- Cloudflare and GitHub — the service that compiles your app and hosts the finished file for download.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety or property. These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States; where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Advertising
Free use of the app is funded by advertising. Google AdMob and its partners may use your device’s advertising ID, approximate location derived from your IP address, and information about your use of the app to show and measure ads, including personalised ads where you have agreed to them.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent through Google’s User Messaging Platform before any personalised advertising, and you can change that choice at any time from the app’s settings. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. Google’s own practices are described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Subscribers do not see ads.
How long we keep it
Account details and projects are kept while your account is open. Build files are kept only as long as needed to deliver your download and are then removed. Diagnostic and support records are kept for up to 24 months. When you delete your account, your account record and projects are deleted; anonymised technical logs may remain.
Deleting your account and your data
You can delete your account and everything attached to it from inside the app: open Settings, choose Delete account, and confirm. This cannot be undone. You can also ask us to delete it by emailing the address below from the address on your account.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, to receive a copy in a portable form, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Information is transmitted over encrypted connections and held by the providers listed above under their own security controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed, and material changes will be notified in the app.
